Description

Concept Solutions is seeking a Configuration (CM) Engineer in Reston, VA (local remote) . The CM Engineer will assist in providing CM support and process improvement for an exciting opportunity with the FAA working with different and complex aeronautical information systems and airspace tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide Configuration Management support by managing the branching, merging and builds for over 20 Java web based applications supporting the FAA using Git
• Track and managing hardware and software configuration baselines across over 10 environments
• Support development teams with building, baselining, and releasing software using established software CM procedures
• Ensure complete traceability of changes to hardware and software baselines leveraging existing CM processes
• Controlling, maintaining, and storing software work products
• Refine and optimize hardware and software CM processes and procedures
• Ensure teams receive CM process training and follow prescribed process
• Providing CM input to software and hardware change requests
• Conducting weekly CM status meetings
• Managing configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, data management, product release and delivery, and configuration audits
• Interfacing with all program teams, engineering disciplines, and program management

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, math, or science degree­
• 5 relevant years of professional experience in configuration and release management activities (including configuration control, identification, data management, product release and delivery, and configuration audits)
• Hands-on experience with Git, Subversion, GitLab, Bitbucket, SVN to Git migration, file merges and software CM tools preferred
• Must be a good team player, with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently under general supervision
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
• Government contracting experience a plus
• FAA experience desired
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills; works with others to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and effectively communicate changes.
