CON EDISON CLEAN ENERGY BUSINESSES is Hiring a Construction Manager Near Danbury, CT

Overview

The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the construction and installation of renewable energy projects. The Construction Manager will provide in-house support to the project management and engineering groups, and will manage all construction related alliances and subcontractor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage all construction support including but not limited to; Pre-qualification of contractors, subcontractors and equipment vendors; Implementation of a bonding and insurance program; Development and structuring of construction contracts. Develop and manage construction related budgets.
  • Collaborate with development, engineering and asset management teams in conducting design optimization, value engineering and provide construction budgeting input.
  • Conduct constructability reviews.
  • Perform cost estimating and purchasing functions for contracts and change orders.
  • Manage field-related project planning, scheduling and quality control.
  • Coordinate field construction project management.
  • Direct construction contract administration and risk management activities.
  • Qualifications

    Education:

    • Undergraduate engineering/construction related degree or comparable years of construction experience required.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing and implementing construction projects
    • Experience with renewable energy (solar, wind, biofuel) a plus
    • Previous budget/schedule/performance/quality responsibility
    • Experience in managing all on-site activities and personnel

    Job Skills:

    • Sound and proven construction management and project management skills
    • Strong contract administration and construction risk management skills
    • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Significant driving will be required
