Salary: $48,000 - $55,000 / year

Job Summary:
The Sous Chef will have daily responsibilities to include oversite of patient room service dining operations. Reporting to the Executive Chef, this role will supervise a team of 8 hourly Associates to help maintain culinary and sanitation standards in our kitchen, as well as assisting with any caterings within the hospital. This position is based at a 150 bed hospital account in Kyle, Texas. Anticipated schedule will be Monday-Friday, with evenings and weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the Executive Chef with handling cost controls and control expenditures for the account
- Assists the Executive Chef with planning and crafting menus
- Assists leading culinary team
- Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
- A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate and required experience
- Culinary management/supervisory experience is required
- Catering experience a plus
- High volume, sophisticated foodservice operations experience - helpful
- Institutional and batch cooking experiences desired
- Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
- Must be willing to participate in patient satisfaction programs/activities
- ServSafe certified - highly desirable
