Compass Care is Hiring a Director of Business Development Near Stamford, CT

Job Summary:

The Director of Business Development is responsible for recruiting (and maintaining) a network of referral sources and strategic partnerships, to generate client referrals to CompassCare. This position will effectively present CompassCare services to targeted referral sources, such as physicians, social workers and discharge planners. Business development activities will primarily include one-on-one meetings with referral sources and partners, as well as planning, arranging, and conducting formal group presentations. The goal of this position is to generate referral growth from within the assigned territory and to increase the Company’s profile through marketing and promotional events.

This role may be a great fit if you're someone with previous experience in business development or sales, marketing and planning events, within the Home Health or Healthcare industry. We’re looking for a savvy and self-directed professional; successful experience leading a small team is desired, but not required. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements quarterly and annual territory plans to achieve growth goals and to implement agreed-upon strategies and actions.
  • Develops business relationships with providers by making effective sales calls and presentations to targeted referral sources.
  • Develops relationships with prospective sources to enhance sales growth.
  • Maintains accurate database of all prospective referral sources and maintains daily/weekly territory sales call plan and tracks patient referrals from first contact through start of care
  • Analyzes referral source potential through public research and company records; conduct regular market checks to add new sources
  • Develop a list of community meetings and relevant conferences to attend regularly within territory
  • Develop and implement a marketing communications strategy, including periodic email campaigns and newsletters
  • Maintains market awareness and shares information effectively with leadership
  • Consistently document activities within CRM and generate meaningful reports 
  • Organizes, distributes, and tracks relevant client documents for organization
  • Communicates and assists the Director of Client Relations and operations as needed to ensure client and referral source satisfaction.
  • Meets and/or exceeds sales target for growth

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development role in the home care industry or comparable relevant health care experience.
  • College degree required. Master’s degree or special certification is a plus. 
  • Demonstrated success meeting quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing a market growth strategy, marketing campaigns, hosting events, offering programming
  • Exceptional presentation and written communications skills, comfortable multi-tasking and problem solving
  • Exhibits strong command over time and territory management, professional appearance and demeanor at all times, behavior and a service attitude towards the community and others
  • Promotes an attitude of gratitude, team spirited.
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours, including some nights and occasional weekends
  • Embody an entrepreneurial approach to managing your territory, creative problem solving and winning attitude
  • Requires valid driver’s’ license with reliable transportation and insurance
  • Ability to travel within (and beyond) geographic territory as needed
