Working Arrangement Hybrid Job Description The opportunity The Multi Asset Solutions Team (MAST) manages over $171 billion of multi manager, multi strategy portfolios distributed across the Institutional, Retail, Retirement and High Net Worth platforms at Manulife. The Asset Allocation Team is hiring an Investment Analyst. This person will report to a Portfolio Manager/Managing Director and will help with the day to day operations of the portfolios. Key responsibilities will include developing and monitoring trade recommendations across a variety of asset classes and timeframes. More broadly, the person will support the Asset Allocation Team and Portfolio manager by generating in depth research, monitoring portfolio performance and risk, and interacting with our subject matter experts to strengthen our analytical capabilities and viewpoints. Responsibilities Contribute to the development of trading signals, econometric models and fundamental research that directly impact investment decisions and portfolio performance on a wide array of multi-asset investment products as well as Manulife Investment Management’s multiple business lines. Monitor idiosyncratic and total portfolio risk and return characteristics and report to portfolio managers on a timely basis. Support senior MAST members with various ad hoc presentations, data analytics, technical and fundamental investment research, and chart building. How will you create impact? What we are looking for Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree a plus Minimum of 1-3 years of investment/economics experience Experience in portfolio attribution and risk reporting, investment/econometric modeling and backtesting CFA or CMT candidate a plus Knowledge in industry-leading economic and portfolio analysis software including Bloomberg, Factset, Morningstar Direct or similar, etc. Proficiency in Matlab, Python, R or other programming languages an asset Ability to build simple regression models and other forecasting/probability methodologies What can we offer you? Primary Location Boston, Massachusetts Salary range is expected to be between $74,000.00 USD - $124,000.00 USD If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
