THE POSITION

Community Partners seeks a full time Finance Manager. Reporting to the Senior Director of Accounting, this position supports the finance team in managing the finances and accounting for a variety of projects related to our intermediary services. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with program team, finance team and project consultants to maintain accurate funder grant/contract invoicing, financial reporting, budgeting, budget amendments, forecasting, and general ledger for intermediary projects. 
  • Assist with audit matters related to intermediary projects. This includes meeting monitoring and compliance requirements as required by contracts and grants.
  • Create journal entries and ensure timely month end close.
  • Review subcontractor and grantee expenditures and budgets as related to intermediary projects. Includes monitoring actual-to-budget activity.
  • Provide guidance to subcontractors and grantees on budgeting, invoicing and record keeping.
  • Assist with developing policies, procedures, and required forms that facilitate effective operation for intermediary projects.
  • Prepare reimbursement invoices to funders, track related payments, and monitor accounts payable for intermediary projects.
  • Attend and support meetings and convenings as needed.
  • Review monthly new project proposals and assess if the potential projects are a fit with Community Partners.
  • Assess risk of project activities and ensure proper nonprofit compliance with laws.
  • Analyze and assist in updating (if needed) current processes in the finance department to mitigate against potential liabilities.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing other duties as needed.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of government funding and compliance requirements.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

· FFFFFBachelor’s degree (or equivalent relevant experience) in accounting, finance, or business-related field. Master degree preferred. A minimum of 7 years of experience in grants, contracts administration and finance, specifically with government contracts.

· Accounting software knowledge required (experience with Accufund a plus) 

· Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skill, be highly attentive to detail, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain a high degree of confidentiality due to the nature of the position.

· Excellent client service and interpersonal skills and professional demeanor in communicating with staff members at all levels throughout the institution, as well as with vendors and others.

· Familiarity with databases, including accounting and Salesforce.

· High level of experience with excel required. 

COMPENSATION

Salary $85,000.00 - $90,000.00
