Position Overview:
The Nurse Intern I/II delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Nurse Intern I/II assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the Nurse Intern’s skill/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The Nurse Intern I is currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing, has completed the first semester of a medical-surgical rotation in a two-year program or in the second year of a three-year program. As the Nurse Intern I progresses through the nursing program, they can perform higher-level procedures in accordance with their school’s skill checklist, and skill validation is achieved. The Nurse Intern II is currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing, has completed all coursework and is entering the final semester (ADN) or final year of a BSN program.
