CHCL seeks to hire a Texas licensed Pediatrician who has a heart for working with low-income and underserved populations. The Pediatrician performs routine health assessments of children to check for injuries, illnesses, or disabilities. Duties include communicating with patients and their parents to help them maintain healthy habits, administering vaccinations for common viruses or allergies and referring patients to specialists based on their needs. In addition, staff physicians, unless specifically exempted by the Medical Director, should be qualified to serve on the Medical Staff of a local hospital and supervise community health center Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners as appropriate.
Education: Graduation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.
Licensure: License to practice medicine in the State of Texas, board certified or board eligible.
Experience: Sufficient experience and/or education to carry out the duties of this position.
Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of a branch of medicine; and knowledge of the methods, techniques, literature, practices, and principles of the broad field of medical science.
Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Travel: Occasionally
Hours of Work: 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work.
