If so, this could be the ticket! Community Tissue Services is looking to hire a quality individual with leadership skills. As a Tissue Recovery Coordinator, you would lead the surgical team in the process of recovering human donated tissue. These tissue grafts are used by hospitals and surgical centers across the country. Through transplantation, these donated tissue grafts enhance and save the lives of others. An extensive on the job training program is provided.
Tissue Recovery Coordinator

The Tissue Recovery Coordinator serves as team leader of the recovery team, coordinating and participating in the surgical recovery of tissue for transplant, and works to educate medical professionals and the public on tissue banking process and the importance of donation.

Essential Functions

  • Leads, coordinates and participates in surgical recovery of tissue according to company and regulatory standards.
  • Provides day to day staff training and education relating to recovery.
  • Reviews and completes donor charts.
  • Communicates with donor families, physicians, hospital staff, funeral homes, and external customers such as Organ Procurement Organization and Eye Banks.
  • Educates professionals and public about donation.
  • Organizes and delivers surveys to hospital staff then comprises and delivers statistics to hospital administration.
  • Assists with hospital in-services, health fairs and professional and public education.
  • Coordinates the storage, irradiation

Minimum Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant medical experience required.

Work Environment and Physical Activities

  • Must be able to meet minimum on-call requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Overnight travel may be required, including flights on commercial aircraft.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be considered insurable by CBC/CTS insurance provider.
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
