Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver training to support staff in operationalizing rights-based delivery approaches and practices in their work
  • Develop learning and capacity-building opportunities for agency staff that utilizes adult learning theory, popular education praxis, and creative approaches to enhance skill building and knowledge sharing
  • Provide leadership in designing, and building out an agency career development program
  • Serve as co-administrator of BRIDGE LMS, and agency lead in supporting managers in utilizing BRIDGE in their work (e.g. authoring content, running reports, etc.)
  • Create online training courses and programs, utilizing BRIDGE LMS tools and authoring tools, such as Articulate
  • Serve as agency-wide Director of Opioid Overdose Prevention Program and agency lead for the development and implementation of harm reduction practices and activities (e.g. providing project management for the Harm Reduction Committee & the effective running & sustainability of the safer use supply program)
  • Provide leadership to the Training Committee, providing substantive contributions & utilize committee work as an additional guide for identifying training needs
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance for key stakeholders on the implementation of effective change management strategies, ensuring stakeholder buy-in in making improvements to service delivery. 
  • Provide leadership and/or support in various agency committees that work to implement agency values/practices (e.g. Death & Dying Committee, DEIA Committee, Safety Committee, IRC, etc.)
  • Support the Human Resources & Quality Improvement departments in their training goals/initiatives as needed
  • Provide Training of Trainers (TOT’s) to managers, HR, and other staff on training development skills, as needed
  • Collaborate with Howie the Harp Peer Advocacy Center to address complementary and shared goals/expertise in training and technical assistance
  • Manage and improve, as needed, systems for reporting/data collection, billing, inventory and other systems and processes utilized by the department
  • Provide supervision, coaching and mentorship for Training Department staff

Qualifications


Job Qualifications

  • Have an understanding, appreciation, and commitment to the mission, values and practice approach of Community Access, with particular expertise in training/teaching rights-based, and equity driven service delivery to workers within the mental health system
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience working in a service delivery program/organization utilizing a rights-based approach to mental health
  • Lived experience utilizing public mental health systems, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, and/or other life-impacting experiences with mental health that reflects the communities we serve
  • Formal training experience, preferred
  • Demonstrable skills related to ability to transfer knowledge and skills in areas, such as trauma, harm reduction, peer-informed practice, harms of and alternatives to traditional service systems, etc.
  • Experience and skill in leading organizational change
  • An expert collaborator who can solve complex challenges and support cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • Ability to gather and utilize feedback from various stakeholders within the organization, to identify learning needs and goals to follow up on
  • Ability to co-facilitate agency workgroups compromised of interdisciplinary workers/stakeholders, guiding equitable decision-making, and work completion
  • Ability to effectively create and deliver accessible learning opportunities using a variety of techniques such as didactic lecture, role-playing, experiential learning, team exercises, group discussions, multi-media, event planning, etc.
  • Ability to utilize various computer programs, such MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams), Zoom, Articulate, Bridge LMS, etc.
  • Strong administrative, project management, supervisory, collaboration and customer service skills
  • Ability to travel to various agency locations throughout Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn
  • Must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Office of Mental Health (OMH)

Salary: 110,000 – 120,000/yearly
