The Puller Veterans Care Center in Warrenton, Virginia is seeking a skilled and compassionate Quality Assurance Director who is motivated by creating lasting impressions through their high standards for quality and safety to support our residents. The Puller Veterans Care Center is a state-of-the-art facility, luxury skilled nursing facility that was built to serve our Veterans. They served us, now it is our duty to serve them. We provide physical healthcare and recreational, spiritual, therapeutic, and social opportunities that contribute to overall physical and mental health.
QI Meetings, Standards and Regulations:
• Implement and maintain a QAPI (quality assurance performance improvement) program
• Prepare for and conduct Quality Improvement Committee meetings quarterly
• Continuously monitor facility practices against standards and regulations from the state, federal government and Veterans Administration
• Recommend actions to maintain or improve performance
• Serve as resource to department and staff in addressing quality improvement issues individually and on teams and committees
• Develop methods to keep staff informed of changes in standards and approve policies and procedures
• Keep Master Administrative and Nursing Policy Book current.
Quality Monitors:
• Evaluate and develop, the review and complete Quality Monitors
• Meet with Department Managers to review issues and develop plans to correct them
• Collaborate with Department Heads and resource personnel using indicators such as new policy development, new technology, patient care study, and quality assurance monitors, to prioritize QI needs.
Reports:
• Receive, review and count event report data
• Perform follow-ups as needed to obtain complete data
• Create reports from aggregate data for Safety Committee and QI review
On Call, Liaison:
• Serve in the NOC rotation
• Serve as liaison with outside organizations including VAMC, when needed
• Point Click Care EMR Coordinator
• Evaluates programs, implement modules or programs, conduct training and trouble shoot problems 24/7
• Ensures all updates are active and properly functioning
• Maintains excellent relations with PCC for template creations and problem solving
• Keeps Administrator and Director of Nursing current on QI program/EMR issues
• Works with all Dept Heads for effective EMR use
Other Duties:
• Performs other duties as may be assigned that are within the facility’s mission and as situations warrant in meeting the overall needs of the facility.
• May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum Qualifications
• Excellent clinical knowledge and skill and the demonstrated ability to coordinate, delegate, communicate and problem solve; ability to evaluate both patient care and staff performance; ability to instruct & train patients and staff.
• Possess program and guideline knowledge of Quality Assurance, PCC/POC, Policy and Procedures, and QAPI
• Possess basic knowledge of computer software & have the ability to use the computer
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, RN with degree preferred. Licensed in the State of Virginia. CPR certification required upon hire or willing to obtain.
