Common Securitization Solutions (CSS) is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who will assist with planning and executing software engineering development projects, utilizing advanced software and hardware engineering principles to join our team of talented professionals. This is a full-time remote opportunity.

CSS built and operates the largest and most advanced mortgage securitization platform in the world, supporting the Uniform Mortgage-Backed Security (UMBS) of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Information

Do you have an interest in Infrastructure Engineering, software architecture design and cloud computing? SRE/Cloud Engineers are responsible for creating infrastructure designs and guiding the development and implementation of cloud applications, systems, and processes. You will help build cutting-edge proof-of-concepts and collaborate with other engineering teams during implementation. The ideal candidate will need to be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Job Functions

• Design automation implementation strategy for business and IT processes using the AWS technologies.
• Build and maintain a robust infrastructure platform to support and enhance business processes, engineering capabilities through self-service deployment capabilities.
• Automate Infrastructure as Code in Amazon Web Services with CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Build CI/CD pipeline utilizing AWS suite of services to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of both large- and small-scale systems.
• Write unit tests and integration tests to validate infrastructure code.
• Automate monitoring tools to monitor system health and reliability to support high uptime requirements.
• Identify engineering defects in the existing code base and constantly improve the code quality. 
• Establish and mature standards for observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting to detect and respond to production issues effectively and proactively.
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application development and deployment activities.
• Automate disaster recovery plans to support the applications that run in multiple availability zones and across regions in AWS. 
• Actively support operational teams and other stakeholder teams to maintain business continuation and maintain customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field required.

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience managing, monitoring, and improving large-scale and highly available cloud-based platforms. 
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Python experience.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring employer sponsorship currently or in the future. CSS does not offer H-1B sponsorship for this position.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience cloud environment is required.
• Experience in configuration, provisioning, managing, and troubleshooting distributed and containerized environments in AWS preferred.
• Coding experience with high-level language such as Java or C# is a plus.
• Experience in serverless architecture including Lambda and Containerization.
• Experience in building custom templates leveraging AWS CFT preferred.
• Experience in building pipelines with CI/CD tools.
• Background in Linux/Unix and Windows administration.
• Hands on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC.
• Must be available for occasional weekend or non-business hour activity involvement related to Infrastructure release, maintenance and patching as needed on a rotational basis.
