Position Overview:

This position will report directly to Common House Chattanooga’s Director of Operations and Director of Programming and will work in partnership with the communications, concierge, and food and beverage team, this role is an integral part of the member experience at Common House Chattanooga.

The Event Programming Manager is responsible for executing every detail of the diverse event programming. This position will utilize direct input form the Director of Programming from the conception of the event to the tech platforms, to the event’s execution. These programs deliver our vision to craft rich and unique experiences for our members.

Relationships are key, both with our members and collaborative partners for delivering interesting and engaging experiences. You will be responsible for nurturing existing partnerships and forging new connections to create experiences to share with the member base.

This is a fast-paced, immersive role with tremendous growth potential that requires the ability to flex. From daytime meetings and regular administrative work to executing events, this is not the average 9-5 with a forty-hour work week. We average 5 member events weekly, as well as host seasonal and holiday parties for our members.

Success in this position means there is no detail missed at any and all programs put on by Common House Chattanooga. Understanding the needs of a service driven, membership-based organization is also key, as this person will be on site at most events adapting things as needed.

You can easily switch from a big picture planning project to checking RSVPs at the door and making sure the playlist is on. You excel at managing the various details and moving parts. You are passionate about hospitality, relationships and delivering innovative, compelling moments.

Functions of this Role:

Planning Programs & Onsite Coordination with the Director of Programming:

  • Ideate Programs & Coordinate Member Communication
  • Proofing External Communication to Ensure We Set Member Expectation
  • Seek out and Maintain Relationships with Key Stakeholders and Talent
  • Space Plan & Manage Staff for Programs
  • Leading Room Setup
  • Manage RSVPs with Concierge
  • Maintain Flow of Event from Start to Finish Ensuring to Maintain Hospitality Standards
  • Adapting Where Necessary to Deliver a Top-Level Production

Organizing, Maintaining, & Tracking Upcoming Programs:

  • Programs are Planned a Month (plus) in Advance
  • Keeping All Programs Moving Forward while Running Immediate Events
  • Planning Utilizing Internal Spreadsheets and Software
  • Must be Comfortable Working with a Computer and Connecting with Members, Guests, and Partners.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Undergraduate Degree Required. Extensive Experience in Hospitality Program/Event Management may be considered.
  • Experience in Event Planning and/or Event Management.
  • Excellent community engagement skills and comfortability public speaking.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.
  • Willing to take direction.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and problem-solve.
