CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the team in Fredericksburg, VA. This position requires a dynamic person with a general understanding of Government contracting and project-based accounting for budgeting evaluations, travel and expense reviews, and project-based time accounting. Telework is authorized with an estimated 20% time in-office for corporate strategy and team coordination events. 

Responsibilities

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

• Review project funding budgets and spending allocations.
• Maintain project budgets within the accounting system, (PROCAS).
• Review travel activities utilizing Joint Travel Regulation guidance.
• Develop travel summaries required for reporting and invoicing.
• Review A/P invoices ensuring amount and account accuracy.
• Maintain direct and indirect time authorizations.
• Review timesheets prior to importation.
• Conduct monthly reconciliation of corporate credit card expenses.
• Maintain various employee accruals for monthly distributions.
• Generate, analyze, and distribute project and corporate reports from accounting system.
• Review project and corporate budgets for accuracy and trending

Qualifications

Required Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
• 2 – 5 years’ experience within Government contracting
• Experience with Government approved Cost Accounting Systems. Experience with PROCAS is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent skills with Microsoft tools such as Excel and Word
• Good analytical and communication skills
