CATEGORY MANAGER
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages and controls the strategic sourcing, provides guidance to purchasing personnel within the company. Develops and implements methods to cost-effective and efficient procedures to source & purchase commodities and services, requiring unique design, development or administrative effort in accordance with company policies and procedures such as make versus buy
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages and has full accountability of assigned categories and its associated supply base, as well as related products, including supplier evaluations, tender process, strategic plan and new supply developments
• Is accountable for the strategy development of the assigned categories
• Identifies and develops new suppliers for the assigned categories and assumes the full accountability for the supply base performance within the company
• Negotiates Master Terms Agreements (MTA) and contracts including performance matrix and associated service level agreements
• Closely collaborates with departments such as Program Management Office, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Operations and Contracts to ensure their requirements are met.
• Drives the sourcing process and hands over to procurement for tactical procurement, follows up on delivery and inspection jointly with the buyers.
• Accountable for supplier relationship and performance against agreed terms setting up KPI’s and monitor and addresses any deviation against schedules or performance.
• Manages category project risk to ensure accurate supplier and material costs are utilized and represents procurement in Sourcing Strategy meetings and risk reviews
• Coordinates sourcing objectives for the assigned categories across departments such as Engineering, operations and manufacturing
• Drives make versus buy analysis and identifies continuous improvement areas to secure a solid supply source.
• Develops and maintain metrics for the supplier performance and continuously prepares reports to management.
• Manages and addresses challenges related to supply, delivery, receiving and payment to the suppliers
REQUIREMENTS:
Professional/technical qualification/skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement or Supply Chain or business administration or related field.
• 7-10 years Category management and procurement experience with demonstrated results, ideally in multinational organizations with complex project scope
• Project and change management mindset
• Experience with project as well as serial manufacturing and VMI (vendor managed inventory)
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced organizational skills with the strong ability to multi-task, and focus on results
• Conduct yourself as a Supply Chain expert ambassador of Comlux to internal and external sources
• Hands on and can-do attitude
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The office building where this position works is a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues in the immediate vicinity of the workstation. The employee in this position will experience occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements when called upon to locate personnel working inside or outside of a Hangar.
