Comfort Keepers is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. At Comfort Keepers, we provide uplifting in-home care for seniors and older adults who require a helping hand, a supportive companion, and day-to-day assistance in their homes.

This position will be responsible for managing our home care services, including the onboarding and education of our nurse aide staff, as well as the admission and coordination of care for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on training and delivering exceptional care and be interested in creating/implementing education programs for the nurse aide staff.

RN Responsibilities:

• Performs the initial and ongoing in-home assessment for clients and determines the appropriateness of client admission.
• Originates and revises the Plan of Care and manages and maintains client documentation and information. 
• Performs supervisory visits per state regulations. 
• Provides skilled nursing services to clients. 
• Informs the physician and other personnel promptly of changes in client condition. 
• Assist with care coordination between client, agency, caregivers, and physician. 
• Participates in caregiver education during orientation and in the field. 
• Participates in the creation and implementation of educational programs for nurse aides and potential nurse aides. 
• Assesses skills of caregiver for placement with clients. 
• Participates in case of management with client care coordinators.
• Participates in quality assurance reviews and evaluations of the agency's services.

RN Requirements:

• Unencumbered and active RN License
• CPR Certification
• Hospice care experience is a plus
• Must be comfortable with end-of-life care
• A passion for the job and genuine desire to help others
• Dependable, responsible, nurturing, and caring attitude
• Access to reliable transportation with a willingness to travel within Peekskill and the surrounding area
• Up-to-date car insurance in your name, registration, and valid Driver's License
• Ability to pass a successful background check and motor vehicle check
