Columbus Technical College is Hiring a Therapeutic Massage Therapy Program Director/Instructor (Full-time) Near Columbus, GA

Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as a full-time Program Director/Instructor in the Therapeutic Massage Therapy Program. This individual will be the first-line administrator within the program area, responsible for the overall leadership, planning, implementation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all therapeutic massage therapy program aspects. This position is full-time/exempt.

Responsibilities:

  • Assures the program complies with all the policies and standards of the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy, coordinating the curriculum with other program requirements.
  • Prepares budget requests and maintains and requests supplies and equipment
  • Maintains program certification requirements as appropriate
  • Maintain current credentials to satisfy all appropriate governing bodies for the courses assigned
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
  • Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area
  • Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues
  • Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
  • Maintain program standards by participating in related advisory committee meetings and working directly with local employers
  • Use excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, and Banner software.
  • Be proficient in preparing and delivering instruction, academic advisement, program administration, evaluation, and curriculum development along with collaborating effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Diploma in massage therapy *and* four (4) years’ of teaching experience in therapeutic massage fundamentals and techniques (i.e., Therapeutic Massage Therapy Fundamentals, Pathology for Massage Therapy, Legal & Ethical Issues in Massage Therapy, Therapeutic Massage Therapy Adjunctive Modalities)
  • Current State of Georgia Massage Therapy License
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ of in field work experience as a licensed massage therapist

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in post-secondary and/or vocational/technical education
  • Experience in BANNER and Blackboard

Salary/Benefits:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include state holidays, annual leave, and sick leave, State of Georgia Retirement, Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
