Columbia Memorial Hospital is Hiring a Hospice Aide Near Astoria, OR

ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: PRIORITY RECRUITMENT Provides personal care, basic hygiene, ambulation and exercise, light food preparation and housework to patients admitted to Hospice. #Carries out delegated procedures from Registered Nurses and Physical Therapists. #Records vital signs, general health status, and procedures completed. #Reports changes in the patient#s condition and needs. Job Requirements Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Basic knowledge of supportive nursing care and basic infection control procedures, nutrition, food preparation, and medical terminology: #Able to record patient findings in the medical record: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; Able to work with sick persons and understand the needs and functional limitation of the elderly and children; Able to work with physically and/or mentally ill, dying, or disabled individuals. Must have own automobile in safe, working order. License/Certification Current BLS certification through the AHA. Must have a valid driver#s license and show documentation of current vehicle insurance per policy. ## Education and/or Experience Minimum Education:#High School graduate or equivalent;# Minimum Experience: Must be an experienced caregiver with at least one year in end-of-life/hospice setting preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 40 pounds). #May be required to sit for extended periods of time. #Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment. #
