Columbia Basin Health Association is Hiring a Custodian Near Mattawa, WA

Overview

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of clinic building and grounds, as well as building security and transporting items among the clinic sites.

Custodian range: $17-$19.50 DOE with ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cleaning work areas as assigned in effective and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for assisting with heavy loads.
  • Responsible for performing general grounds maintenance to include operation of snow and ice removal equipment, snow blower, Gator and ice melt spreader.
  • Responsible for performing basic maintenance repairs to include light bulb replacement, paint chip touch-ups, minor plumbing and carpentry repairs.
  • Responsible for assisting with building security/fire alarms, emergencies and responds to after-hours calls as directed.
  • Responsible for driving and maintaining company vehicles.
  • Picks up and delivers CBHA mail between Othello sites and Post Office as scheduled.
  • Responsible for delivering items between sites, and to/from off-site storage.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE standards of Behavior.
  • Must uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specific to CBHA.
  • Qualifications

    Professional and Technical Knowledge:

  • Job duties require specific knowledge of basic janitorial and maintenance processes and practices, typically learned “on the job,” or which may include a series of training sessions that would comprise a few weeks if done consecutively.
  • Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with driving record compliant with company insurance requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age in order to be compliant with company driver’s insurance policy.
  • Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Ability to safely use basic tools and equipment (i.e., screwdrivers, pliers, step stools, ladders, carts) and small powered equipment (i.e., vacuum, carpet shampooer, power drill) according to manufacturer instructions for use.

    • Dental – CBHA In-House Credit

    In-house credit of $1,300 annual maximum for services provided at CBHA dental clinic. $35 copay is waived for preventative services.

    • Vision – CBHA In-House Credit

    In house credit includes for one eye exam every plan year. $200 hardware credit for employee and dependents for prescription hardware (glasses, contacts, prescription sunglasses). Employees and dependents also receive one additional hardware credit per year at CBHA’s cost 20% (used for non-prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, or a second pair of prescription glasses). $35 copay is waived for preventative services

    403 (b) Retirement Plan: 

    Safe Harbor Match: Employees are eligible to receive a Safe Harbor Match of 100% up to 4% of the employee’s total salary. Employee is full vested in Safe Harbor Match from day 1. Contributions are subject to IRS guidelines.

    Non-Elective Contribution- Provided the employee has met enrollment qualifications, employee will also receive 4% employer contribution of employee’s total salary at the end of the Plan Year at the discretion of Board of Directors.

    Vacation (Personal Leave): 

    Year 1

    40 hours front loaded after six (6) months of employment. Accrue at the rate of .0038per hour paid not to exceed a per pay period accrual of .3076 hours for the rest of year one (1). Vacation buyout paid hours are excluded from accrual

    Year 2 

    Accrue at the rate of .0442 per hour paid not to exceed a per pay period accrual of 3.53hours. Vacation buyout paid hours are excluded from accrual.

    Year 3

    Accrue at the rate of .5576 per hour paid not to exceed a per pay period accrual of 4.46 hours. Vacation buyout paid hours

    All employees receive 8 vacation hours for a Wellness Day on their Anniversary Date each year.

    **Martin Luther King Jr. Day & President’s Day are considered floating holidays and are used at employee’s discretion.
