Job purpose

To operate all Kit Packaging equipment used to assemble or package product. This is an off-shift opportunity. We are looking for candidtaes who are interested to work either 2nd or 3rd shift with hours as follows: 2nd would be from 2pm to 10:30pm; 3rd would be from 10:30pm to 6am.

Duties and responsibilities

• Understand the safe operations of the machine or equipment.
• Startup of machine or equipment from powered down status.
• Be capable of setting up the machine to produce quality product.
• Operating the machine or equipment to produce quality product.
• Making adjustments required to keep producing quality product.
• Understanding issues and troubleshooting those issues to get the machine running again.
• Machine changeover for all jobs when required.
• In-process and inspection of the product.
• Understand all ancillary equipment required for primary machine operation.
• Count pieces, complete production paperwork and QC requirements as required.
• Complete notes, forward information related to the machine or process and communicate any issues to the supervisor.
• Clean up the machine or equipment at the end of the shift and put any and all related tools away.
• Proper shutdown of the machine or equipment.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability needed in order to successfully perform the job.

• high school diploma
• one (1) year related experience or training or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read a limited number of two-and-three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10?s and 100?s
• Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. currency and U.S. weight measurement, volume and distance.
• Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employees work in a manufacturing environment. The noise in the work environment is moderate. This is a full-time hourly position requiring at least 40 hours per week, with hours of work and days scheduled determined by the Kit Packaging Supervisor. Special circumstances such as off shift and weekend work might occur on rare occasions. This position requires no travel. This position requires regular and consistent attendance at the facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily sitting for prolonged periods of time. Standing, walking or bending will occur from time to time. Prolonged periods of concentration and focus are required along with adequate interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with stress of time constraints. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires regular and consistent attendance at the facility.
