Colonial Behavioral Health is Hiring a Human Resources Specialist Near Williamsburg, VA

Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County. 

We are currently recruiting for a Human Resources (HR) Specialist. Position is responsible for providing support in functional areas of Human Resources (HR) which includes credentialing, department administrative duties in HRIS System, regulatory reporting requirements, assisting with benefits administration and other areas as needed.
Job Responsibilities 
  • Assist with Onboarding; ensures the data entered into HRIS System is complete and accurate. 
  • Assist with promotions, transfers, terminations and other related personnel and/or payroll events in the agency HRIS system.
  • Credentialing agency staff with private insurances and managed care organizations; assist with other credentialing functions.
  • Complete applications for contracting and credentialing while ensuring accuracy.
  • Provides guidance to staff around HR policies and procedures (i.e. Leave Accruals, FMLA, Workers Compensation, etc.). 
  • Conducts exit Interviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.Skills and Qualifications
 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to listen effectively.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources law.
  •  Ability to move between multiple projects or activities and remain focused.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in Human Resources issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to be patient when dealing with employees and personnel matters.
  • Ability to handle provider data collection such as licenses and liability coverage
  • Ability to track and maintain provider information and credentialing documentation
  • Ability to update databases and manage web portals
  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resource administration utilizing HRIS and other computer software applications preferred, familiarity with Adobe and Excel software applications.
  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field required. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, HR Management, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Microsoft office software experience required.
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record required.
