Collins Aerospace is Hiring a Production Associate I Near Fairfield, CA

The Production Associate I maintains materials, makes calculations, inspects machining operations, and uses computer-controlled equipment all while following proper procedures.

Compensation:

  • Minimum starting pay rate of $22 per hour
  • $500 Sign On Bonus*
  • Eligible for Annual Increases
  • Competitive Benefits Package, including first day Medical Benefits

Schedule:

  • This position is for 1st shift
  • Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Overtime available on a business need basis

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates proper use of simple hand and machine tools.
  • Accurately reads and follows procedures, routing and other work instructions.
  • Acquires applicable skill/knowledge/certifications as required.
  • Maintains materials, equipment, and work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Complies with all rules and regulations including, but not limited to: Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, International Trade Compliance, and Human Resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Inspects machining operations and finished products against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
  • Performs routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines.
  • Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete routine tasks according to specifications.
  • May make calculations and assist with numeric controlled programming.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma. In the absence of a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
  • Basic mathematics, reading and comprehension, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Mathematical aptitude (good working knowledge of basic math.) and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions, and simultaneously maintain proper documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment.
  • Can perform basic functions with the assistance of a certified trainer.
  • Must be capable of adapting to changing situations upon the direction of supervision and can thoroughly document variations from standards.
  • Willing to cross-train and work in all areas of operations.
  • Performs other duties as required and available for overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds several times per hour.
  • Ability to concentrate on the task at hand for extensive periods of time.
  • Ability to properly wear respirator for various tasks as well as extended periods of time.
  • Must be U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of explosive or chemical manufacturing or handling experience is preferred for Level I.
  • Good working knowledge of computers as well as proficient skills in Microsoft programs (I.E. Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Good Mathematical Aptitude.
  • Good Mechanical Aptitude.
