SUMMARY Colliers Mortgage is looking for a Staff Accountant to join the accounting team supporting its commercial and agency mortgage finance operations. This position performs accounting and administrative tasks associated with cash processing, maintaining financial records, reports, ledgers, account reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting and analysis, audits, and special projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Daily cash transaction processing Cash management over several bank accounts Account reconciliations Month-end close activities Ad hoc requests for history, transaction details, or information Prepares supporting documentation for audits Other duties as assigned Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required 2 years of general ledger accounting or audit experience required Knowledge of GAAP, tax rules and guidelines Financial services industry experience preferred Intermediate Microsoft Office skills with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including v-lookups and pivot tables required Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to translate complex subjects to a broad range of stakeholders Strong technical/analytical skills with the ability to think critically and maintain keen attention to detail Ability to work effectively both independently but also in a team environment Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once JOB EXPECTATIONS Regular and reliable attendance required BENEFITS We offer a comprehensive benefits package for employees and their families including medical and dental plan; 401k plan including company matching; firm funded life and disability insurance. #LI-BS1 Make your next move an expert one and join us as we lead the industry into the future.
