Colliers Engineering & Design is Hiring a Project Accountant Near Hartford, CT

Overview

At Colliers Engineering & Design (Project Leaders division), we help leaders advance the built environment by assisting them to build amazing workplaces, businesses, and communities around the world. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate project financials of multiple construction projects in our markets which include commercial, education, and institutional clients. This role ensures that our Project Management team is providing the best financials support possible to our clients during all phases (design, construction, and closeout) of their commercial construction projects. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining a database of project related information used to track business metrics.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for candidates with stellar project financials analysis experience who are super organized, have a keen eye for the details and have led and managed complex projects from start to finish. You’re personable, efficient, and good at building strong and trusting relationships with co-workers and clients.

You have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of project financials, are adept at establishing budgets, maintaining financial documentation, reconciling monthly invoices, preparing financial reports, summarizing information for reconciliation, and mentoring others regarding financial policies and procedures.

You are able to prepare project financial packages and maintain corresponding files. You are skilled at processing, reviewing, tracking, and entering project costs for multiple projects and experienced at reconciling vendor statements and client payments.

You are experienced at communicating and managing dynamics between demanding parties and project managers and ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.

What success looks like• You’ve worked on establishing and maintaining budgets • You have a track record of facilitating processes between multiple parties. • Your clients are pleased with your ability to represent their best interests and reconcile budgeting concerns• Your project teams report positively on your ability to manage processes, communicate and coordinate between multiple stakeholders, resolve issues, and deliver projects on time and on budget

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree preferably in a business related discipline.• At least 3 years of experience in financial planning, financial analysis, or budgeting• Experience in the building design / construction, architecture, and/or engineering field considered an asset, but not required• Demonstrated ability to manage various tasks, schedules, and deliverables • Enthusiasm to promote and drive implementation of projects• Advanced Microsoft Excel, financial tracking, and cost reporting skills required

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a proven ability to effectively resolve project financials issues• Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills• Proficient in MS Project, Word, PowerPoint• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment• A desire to conduct Financials training internally
