Description
Cogent Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst to support the Central Florida Market lenders. A Credit Analyst facilitates lending for our clients by collecting and analyzing credit information used in assessing creditworthiness as well as providing sound documentation. Ultimately, you will help our clients secure capital in a timely manner, while ensuring compliance within internal and regulatory guidelines and providing a best in class client service experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Assists in proposing deals during the term sheet / rump sessions to Credit Officer and Senior Credit Officer.
• Assists in underwriting New, Renewals, Modifications, Annual Reviews as needed.
• Pulls personal and corporate credit bureaus as well as OFAC reports.
• From time to time, may carry some lending relationships graded Watch or Worse as well as present and administer (WOW reports).
• From time to time, shall assist executive management on policy and procedure writing for the Lending / Credit side of the bank.
• Assists Credit Officers in various capacities as directed.
• Ensures BSA compliance by reading and being familiar with the BSA/AML program/policy; following all BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures; and completing all BSA/AML/OFAC related online courses.
• All other tasks, responsibilities, or duties, as directed by management.
Requirements
• Prior experience in banking or financial analysis.
• Minimum educational requirement of a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, accounting, finance. Formal bank credit training a plus.
• Ability to create financial spreadsheets.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong customer service (internal and external) skills.
• Ability to travel as needed to outside markets.
