Berklee College of Music is Hiring a City Music High School Academy Ensemble Assistant Near Boston, MA
In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.
For complete program details, please go to our website: www.berklee.edu/se. The High School Academy Assistant will provide support for the City Music Academic Program Asst. Director when needed. This is a 10-15 hour per week position. The High School Academy Assistant must be able to work weekends and weekday nights when needed based on our Event Calendar. Applicants should be organized, detail-oriented, possess superb customer service skills, and have experience working independently in a fast paced environment. Main tasks will be opening and preparing City Music classrooms prior to the start of classes during the week. High School Academy Assistant will also help set up and tear down stages for different shows, as well as communicating with musicians on their backline needs and creating stage plots prior to events. Applicants are required to be able to lift 40 LBS or more of backline equipment. Primary hours will be between 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Saturday hours also needed, 10:00 AM- 3:00 PM Experience, Education, Skills:
Ability to communicate and interact with a variety of people in an articulate, cordial and professional manner
Ability to connect with youth and young adults from diverse backgrounds
Superb customer service and interpersonal skills
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
A major in MP&E is a plus
Percussion principal a plus
Experience with live sound reinforcement.
Experience with photography and videography is preferred
