LEAD PRODUCT DESIGNER

As a Lead Product Designer at CodeScience, you will be a key member of product development teams, leveraging your consultative mindset and design experience to build the right solution for end users’ needs. In this position, you will facilitate workshops and design sessions, identify end users’ pain points and challenges, validate your recommendations, and bring it all together to deliver the best user experience possible. You have a deep understanding of UX principles, strong knowledge of the Salesforce platform, and can hold your own presenting your findings to C-Suite and engineers, alike.
You will also support a team of CodeScience Product Designers and partners, acting as a soundboard for their work, offering recommendations to make breakthroughs, identifying opportunities for their skill development, and collaborating on initiatives which continue to strengthen the Product Design practice at CodeScience
The Lead Product Designer will report to the Product team manager and will collaborate on Delivery practice initiatives.

You use empathy to define and ideate on product design, then prototype and test your recommendations, understanding that several rounds of iteration may be needed to produce the best possible experience
Resolving end user pain points and designing seamless/easy to use solutions gets you out of bed in the morning
You are a clear communicator who displays a professional demeanor in all interactions
You evaluate native Salesforce capabilities prior to ideating on a custom solution
You have expert familiarity with the Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) and you quickly recognize a path forward in creating custom Lightning Web Components (LWCs)
You have designed LWCs, have knowledge of various Salesforce clouds, can make Force.com declarative changes to improve a product's interface via the Setup menu, and are not intimidated by the shameless use of Salesforce jargon in this bullet point
You have consultant experience and understand the importance of aligning on the solution approach that aligns within a project’s scope, budget, and timeline
You subscribe to the notion that building the right thing is equally as important as building the thing right
You offer and receive feedback in a positive manner, are honest, and value transparent communication
You are highly motivated, highly inquisitive, and at least moderately funny
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide UX research and product design leadership/execution to your project teams
Work both independently and collaboratively with your team to deliver solutions that meet, if not exceed, client expectations and fits the scope, budget, timeline of the engagement
Able to successfully design solutions within the constraints of SLDS
Create visualizations for the build team’s custom development stories and provide suggestions on how to execute the design in HTML and CSS
Share your Salesforce and SLDS knowledge and provide guidance to CodeScience Product Designers, partners, client design teams
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with your project team members, clients, and partners
Identify and quickly communicate project risks, such as changes to project scope, and escalate as needed
Work within a fast-paced, Agile development environment, executing deliverables quickly, while responding to questions with a sense of urgency within a Sprint cycle
Collaborate on initiatives to continue to strengthen, define, and refine the Product Design practice at CodeScience
Experience
RequiredCollege degree
5 years of web, UX/UI or other relevant design experience
3 years experience designing for the Salesforce platform
Expert knowledge of SLDS
Ability to rapidly identify discovery and research approach
Ability to swiftly execute visualizations
Configure declarative updates to the user interface on Force.com
High level presentation skills
Basic understanding of a wide range of web technologies and design concepts (i.e. mobile first, progressive enhancement)
Proficiency in working with cloud based design applications (e.g., Figma)
Professional Services experience
