We here at US Tennis Association (USTA) Florida not only help people play tennis, we also help build communities. And we have been doing it for over 70 years. Our mission is to promote & develop tennis for all! From Youth to College to Adult, we make tennis fun for all. We work with public and private facilities and organizations across the state to create more opportunities for you to play. Thats our mission and we are pretty proud of it. When you join USTA Florida, you are helping to (re)build courts, putting racquets in kids hands, and getting programs up and running in your local park or facility. Since 2010 alone, weve given more that $1 million in grants for equipment, courts, and programs. Thats right, were a non-profit, volunteer-led organization that works each and every day of the year to serve our more that 40,000 individual and 1,000 organization members. It takes a lot of people to grow tennis in Florida, and our volunteers come from all walks of life. They have one thing in common: a LOVE for tennis.

**The Position**: The Facility Instructor/Attendant is responsible for supporting the tennis facility in the following ways: assisting with instruction on the court, working the front welcome desk, maintaining the courts and overall cleanliness of the facility.

Fall-Spring Hours:

Mon-Thurs 3:00pm 8:00pm

Saturday 8:00am 1:00pm

Summer Hours:

Mon-Fri 8:00am-12:00pm

Saturday 8:00am 1:00pm

Other days based on special events.

**Essential Functions:**

QUALITY CONTROL

* Ensures the facility meets all USTA Florida established quality standards on and off the court in areas of customer service, cleanliness, safety and program delivery. Reports any concerns to the head tennis professional.

* Inspects the facility on a daily basis prior to start of play and ensures that all housekeeping and court maintenance is performed and that any items not up to USTA Florida quality standards are addressed immediately.

* Performs daily and periodic hard / soft court maintenance, reports any maintenance issues to the Facility Head Tennis Professional. Soft court maintenance to include but not limited to: Patching court, scarifying courts, adding material, general maintenance.

INSTRUCTION

* Provides tennis instruction on court, when needed, including assisting with summer camps, entry-level programs and various other clinics and programs, as assigned.

* Provides feedback on programs and participants to the head tennis professional.

* Oversees and maintains facility equipment, including set up and tear down, and assists head tennis professional in updating the supply and equipment orders.

CUSTOMER SERVICE & SUPPORT

* Provides outstanding customer service and support as part of the tennis shop attendant team greeting customers, assigning courts, and assisting customers with inquiries and needs, both in person and via the web site and social media channels.

* Proficiently uses tennisdirector.com software, reconciles daily receipts and follows all USTA Florida Section forms and policies.

* Takes videos and photos for web and marketing content on a weekly basis and submits to Head Pro and Marketing Department

* Other job-related duties, as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

* At least one-year experience as a Tennis Instructor

* Experience coordinating sports programs preferred

* Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a record that meets our companys insurance standards

* Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Office 365, and Outlook

* Must be able to read and write English

* Must have a professional and positive attitude

* Must be able to pass the USTA Safe Play and USTA FL Section background checks

* Must be able to participate in potentially strenuous physical activity

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

* Outgoing and engaging personality that will ensure an enjoyable and entertaining environment in a safe and professional setting

* Ability to demonstrate advanced knowledge of the game of tennis

* Racquet Stringing ability preferred

* Tennis Tournament/Event organizational skills preferred

* Certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED preferred

* Attention to detail

* Good organizational and time management skills

* Good verbal and written communication skills

* Creative thinker and problem solver

* Ability to mediate conflict

**Work Environment**:

* Frequently works in and outdoors exposed to weather conditions

* Noise levels are moderate to high

* Work schedule may vary flexibility is required
