Job Title: HR Generalist

Location: Remote (Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington only)

Compensation: Depends on Experience

About the position

The human resource generalist performs HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the executive team in supporting multiple geographic regions (Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Nevada and Nebraska). This position carries responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, benefits administration, performance management, onboarding, policy creation and implementation, recruitment, and employment law compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compiles payroll data to ensure accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll
  • Prepares reports and payroll records for accountant
  • Reviews and updates timecards for payroll processing
  • Develops personnel policies and procedures and maintains employee handbook
  • Schedules and conducts new hire orientation actives including explanation of company policies, overview of timekeeping systems
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hiring qualified job applicants for open positions
  • Administers employee benefit programs such as group insurance, 401(k), etc.
  • Manages leave and paid time off programs
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and general employee personnel issues
  • Administrates workers compensation program
  • Researches and analyzes various HR scenarios for management
  • Stays current with local, state and Federal HR laws, legislation, and trends
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of HR experience
  • PHR or SHRM certification preferred
  • Payroll processing experience
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to embrace new technology
  • A proven ability to handle ambiguity in the absence of defined systems and processes

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
