Cobalt is Hiring a Senior Account Executive Near Arlington, VA

About the PositionCobalt is growing and we’re looking for competitive, hard-working, curious individuals with a track record of sales success to join our Sales & department as Account Executives (AE). The AE role is key to Cobalt’s continued growth as it will own and execute our efforts for new customer acquisition. This position is part of the Sales department and reports to Cobalt’s Director of Sales. 
We’re looking for someone who wants to work the entire sales cycle and close high-dollar contracts. The ideal candidate takes pride in solving real-world business problems, loves selling complex technologies, thrives in a collaborative environment, brings a relentless hunter mentality, and is hungry to win every deal with a willingness to go above and beyond to do so. We are looking for candidates who can start in Q4 of 2023.
Primary Duties
  • Learn about Cobalt’s Microsoft-powered CRM solution and how it creates value for our clients and makes it easier for them to resolve critical business problems.
  • Work with a Business Development Representative to create monthly / quarterly target account lists and strategic planning for how best to approach your territory and drive new business.
  • Contribute to the prospecting engine by conducting your own regular outreach to prospects through outbound cold calling, personalized emailing, and social media engagement.
  • Establish a presence in our target markets by engaging online communities and attending networking events, trade shows, & conferences.
  • Develop, own, and manage a pipeline of multiple $50 – 100K opportunities at various stages of the sales cycle.
  • Conduct initial deep discovery sessions to fully understand the prospects challenges & needs and present a high-level, catered platform demonstration that speaks directly to those needs.
  • Liaise with our product department to deliver tailored, deep-dive demonstrations and develop proposals that address your prospects’ requirements and based on Cobalt's implementation methodology.
  • Work with Cobalt sales leadership to analyze potential deals and coordinate internal resources to be best nurture your deal pipeline and move them forward through closure.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in our internal Dynamics 365 CRM solution.
  • Leveraging Cobalt’s tech stack: Dynamics 365 Sales Insights & Conversational Intelligence, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc. to put yourself in the best position for success.
  • Coordinate with the marketing and product teams to provide feedback based on interaction with prospective customers and help develop content to supplement our business development efforts.
  • Serve as a partner, mentor, and knowledge resource to the Business Development Representatives supporting the Commercial Market.
  • Vigorously pursue opportunities to close deals, generate revenue, and hit your annual New Booked Business (NBB) goal. 
Required Qualifications
  • 5 years of proven success selling complex software solutions in a competitive environment with longer sales cycles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable speaking with prospects and colleagues

  • Upbeat, energetic attitude and ability to collaborate within department and across functions.
  • Willingness to help, coach, and mentor more junior team members.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience selling in a start-up atmosphere with a continually evolving sales strategy

Compensation is commensurate with experience and will include a competitive base salary, plus a commission structure based on each dollar of new business booked.
