Coatesville Area School District is Hiring a Director of Technology Near Thorndale, PA

The Coatesville Area School District is currently seeking a Director of Technology to oversee the District's Technology Department. This position will provide management and technical expertise in all aspects of information technology and educational learning platforms for the Coatesville Area School District.
Essential Functions:
  • Manage all aspects of the district information technology strategies, policies, service, hardware and software.
  • Coordinate with the different departments to develop district information technology plans and strategies for administrative and instructional use.
  • Manage adopted district information technology strategies.
  • Manage the operational state and functionality of all systems within the CASD network structure.
  • Negotiate, monitor and administer all information technology maintenance, installation, purchase and service agreements.
  • Develop and manage the district information technology annual capital and operating budgets.
  • Supervise and evaluate district technology technical and administrative support staff.
  • Develop, administer and execute user support training for all information technology systems.
  • Manage and administer all information technology databases.
  • Establish procedures and work standards for all district technology staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of new developments in the information technology field by involvement in professional organizations and ongoing education and training, awareness of trends, research, new programs, legislation, and state and federal laws and regulations related to information technology and/or technology in schools districts.
  • Direct development and delivery of technology training for use of administrative and instructional systems working collaboratively with the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment team.
  • Work with and coordinate development with all staff to implement and support instructional technology initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor the District web site for the purpose of providing information regarding the activities of the District.
  • Support the implementation of educational technology initiatives (i.e. new systems, educational programs, hardware) for the purpose of assisting with delivery and implementation of initiatives, providing support and assistance to others, providing oversight of projects and/or training and providing information to others to ensure successful implementation.
  • Designing, setting up and operating sound and lighting equipment for projects such as board meetings, school functions.
  • Follow CASD Board Policies and technology procedures.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate for this position (Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Management, Educational Technology or other equivalent disciplines). Master's Degree preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Must have good organization skills.
  • Management skills required.
  • Must be able to move/carry computers and peripherals.
  • Must be able to work with computer tools.
  • Must have Driver’s License.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or administrative mentorship abilities.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with school board members, administrators, teachers, parents, community members and outside professional contacts.
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize, work under time constraints and to be flexible in an environment of multiples tasks and changing priorities. Other Requirements:
  • Strong background in educational programs.
  • Strong managerial, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to manage personnel.
  • Computer skills and excellent writing skills required.
  • The ability to interface directly with administrators, teachers, parents, students, community and support staff.
  • Must have the ability to work independently.
  • Must have the ability to work well with others and have good people skills.
