Coastal Occupational Medical Group is Hiring an Acupuncturist Near Oceanside, CA

Description

About Us: We offer a full scope of occupational medicine services designed to help reduce healthcare costs, while minimizing lost work time and increasing employee productivity. To accomplish these goals, we are outcome focused and provide medical care on an urgent or appointment basis for occupational injuries and illnesses. We also design modified work and rehabilitation programs to enable injured employees to return to work as soon as possible.

We are excited to offer a part-time position for an acupuncturist at our Oceanside clinic. We provide a clean, open & modern work setting where we collaborate with other rehab team members. Our rehab team consists of physical, occupational and acupuncturists.

We strive to be the best occupational health clinic in California. We work alongside our other rehab team members, doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants within our clinic and with outside orthopedic surgeons. Our goal is to provide the best environment for our patients to return to their previous level of function quickly.

Requirements

The acupuncturist will provide treatment of symptoms and disorders using needles and small electrical currents. May provide massage treatment. May also provide preventive treatments.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Follows standard quality, safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures and adheres to local, state and federal laws, regulations and statutes.

• Identifies the correct anatomical and proportional point locations based on patients’ anatomy.

• Treats patients using tools such as needles, cups, ear balls, seeds, pellets, and nutritional supplements.

• Takes precautions related to treatments such as intradermal needles, moxibustion, electricity, gua sha, and bleeding.

• Analyzes physical findings and medical histories to make diagnoses according to Asian medicine traditions. Maintains detailed and complete records of healthcare plans and prognoses.

• Evaluates treatment outcomes and recommends new or altered treatments to promote, restore, or maintain health.

• Educates patients on topics such as meditation, ergonomics, stretching, exercise, nutrition, the healing process, breathing, and relaxation techniques.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent active listening and critical thinking skills with a service orientation. Strong judgment and decision-making skills.

• Ability to monitor ongoing activities in consideration of changing patient conditions.

• General knowledge of biology, medicine and dentistry. 

• Strong customer and personal service perspective.

• Basic understanding of psychology, therapy and counseling.

Education and Experience:

• Must be a licensed acupuncturist with a master’s degree or postbaccalaureate certificate from an accredited school.
