Coastal Engineering Associates, Inc. is Hiring a Planner and/or Sr. Planner Near Brooksville, FL

Coastal Engineering Associates, Inc., (COASTAL) established in 1958, is a multi-disciplined firm providing planning, surveying, engineering, environmental and construction management services in the four County region of Hernando, Citrus, Sumter, and Pasco located in west-central Florida. COASTAL is looking for a full–time Planner and/or Sr. Planner with experience in a focus in land development and/or commercial development. (Land Use Planner, Land Development, Community Development, Zoning, Rezoning, Entitlements)

Job Requirements:

As a Planner/Senior Planner at COASTAL, you will collaborate with local jurisdictions, community groups, and internal departments to bring client visions to life and secure entitlements. From initial concept design to final project completion, you will engage stakeholders, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver projects that surpass expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and manage complex planning projects, research, and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Review existing land use/entitlements and assist in preparing permit submittal documents.
  • Develop master plans for various sites.
  • Prepare reports and presentations, working closely with project teams.
  • Coordinate with clients and manage project meetings.
  • Oversee specialized planning functions such as large-scale development proposals and environmental studies.
  • Lead the planning and development process for land development and commercial projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site analysis, and due diligence assessments.
  • Prepare and review site plans, zoning applications, and regulatory permits.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Facilitate community engagement initiatives and public hearings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes

Competitive Salary and committed to paying market-based salary plus company benefits based on employee experience, references, and related knowledge of job responsibilities. Coastal also has a profit-sharing 401k and a company bonus plan for qualified employees; base work hours Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 5:00 pm.
