Position Summary
The Staff Environmental Scientist position requires the individual to be detail-oriented, organized,
personable, and dependable in order to support the continued growth of the company. The below
qualifications, physical requirements, and responsibilities identify the primary requirements of the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Environmental Site Assessments - Phase I, Phase II, Soil Characterization (fieldwork)
• Construction Oversight (soil management) & PID screening
• Preparation of field documents (notes, forms, photographs, figures, logs)
• Technical understanding and interpretation of state voluntary clean-up programs and leaking
underground storage programs
• Technical report preparation (Phase I, Phase II, Uncontaminated Soil Certifications, PESA, PSI,
UST)
• Communicate project task status, schedule, findings, and recommendations to staff and senior
consultants
• Occasionally, you may collaborate with co-workers in other departments. This could include
assisting with mold, asbestos, lead, and other industrial hygiene projects.
• Local travel of 60-80% is expected
• Occasional travel out-of-state and 2nd/3rd shift or weekend work may be required from time to
time
Minimal Qualifications
• Education: BA/BS in Science Related Discipline
• Years of Experience: 4-8 Years
• Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), GIS/CAD
experience strongly recommended
• Professional Licenses/Certifications Preferred: OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER, Asbestos
Professional Licensing is a plus
• A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are also required
• Medical approval by the Company's appointed physician, after employment is accepted, prior to
the first day of work
Physical Requirements
• Perform sedentary work requiring exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally.
• Visual acuity.
• Hearing and talking to perceive the expression and exchange of ideas.
