Owner’s Project Management firm seeks a construction inspector for a large complicated project in Northern Maine. Candidates must have at least ten years’ experience inspecting building projects and must have experience

  • As a lead inspector/project engineer on at least one project with a value of at least $25 million
  • As an inspector on at least two design-build projects
  • As an inspector on at least one project for the US General Services Administration
  • Preparing correspondence and maintaining official construction site records, including inspection reports and photographs using digital photography and video
  • With equipment commissioning processes and equipment/systems operations
  • Reviewing Contractor’s monthly payment requests and recommending payment or rejection of the request and preparing required documentation
  • Determining merit, calculating construction costs and performing time impact analyses for change order proposals, supporting negotiations, and preparing change order documentation
  • Conducting inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction and installation of various systems (such as fire alarm systems, MEP, BAS, civil/structural/geotechnical, elevator, traffic, welding, landscaping, CBP installations, building envelope, testing procedures, mockups) based on an in-depth understanding of the contract documents including the plans and specifications
  • Experience with reviewing submittals, shop drawings, requests for information (RFIs), manufacturer’s application and installation guidelines.
  • Using computer applications such as electronic project management, CAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Primavera 6, and Microsoft Project
  • Monitoring project schedules
  • Knowledge of safety practices in the construction industry including a background of familiarity with OSHA safety requirements on construction projects

Candidates with the following will receive preference:

  • A degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or business
  • Certification as a Certified Construction Manager by the Construction Management Association of America
  • Experience being an inspector on a land port of entry project
  • Residence in Northern Maine
