CNE Direct, Inc. is also engaged in the business of wholesale distribution of technology equipment including computers, computer components and peripherals, networking and telecommunications hardware and other electronic products. We obtain supply on consignment and through direct purchase from end users, large manufacturers (OEM’s) and distributers who find themselves with excess inventory. We re-sell those products to end users, other OEM’s, distributers, resellers, and brokers worldwide.

Position Summary: A Forklift Operator is a professional who is responsible for moving goods around warehouses or other industrial sites. They do this by using a forklift to unload deliveries from trucks and stack boxes for storage purposes throughout a warehouse and other industrial property. This role will accomplish various materials handling assignments as needed. This role will be operating on the forklift 90% of the working time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, trucks, and storage areas.
• Obtains production schedule and shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
• Stacks materials and follows inventory control instructions within the facility.
• Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
• Identifies damages to materials and reports shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.
• Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor.
• Completes forms and handles required documentation.
• Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.
• Inspects equipment to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
• Maintains updated forklift checklist, records, and activity logs.
• Performs other projects as requested by Management.

Qualifications and Work Experience:  

• High School diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• Manufacturing and/or production experience a plus.
• Forklift license or the ability to complete forklift training course.
• Must meet the physical requirements including, but not limited to heavy lifting, walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, driving the forklift, and handling heavy equipment.

Abilities Required:

• Operates the forklift 90% of the working time.
• Must be capable of being trained to operate a forklift and pay loader.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents and safety guidelines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and ability with spatial relationships.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Working knowledge of basic tools and vehicle maintenance is a plus.

The environmental characteristic for this position is a warehouse setting. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional warehouse environment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. This role will operate a forklift. Also, the candidate must be able to comply with OSHA standards.
