The Project Architect shall:

Assist the Project Management team with the evaluation, process, and managing of the information necessary to construct projects on time, within budget, and to the quality specified by the contract documents.

Overall Responsibilities and Duties (Essential Functions) in Support of the Project Management Team:

  • Acting as a support team member to the Project Management team
  • Assisting in the preparation of project plans in accordance with applicable codes and specifications
  • Review project documents and prepare bills of material for vendors, ensuring avoidance of material waste or surplus.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in collecting data for use in managing the project budget and change orders
  • Create, coordinate, and manage all pre-construction submittals to include, but not limited to: Contractor Quality Control Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, Demolition Plan, Environmental Protection Plan (may include Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan), Waste Management Plan
  • Assessing conformance to contract specifications.
  • Working with the Project Manager to resolve any conflicts in interpretation.
  • Managing information on changes in the work; preparing an independent analysis as required; obtaining and checking estimates for the changes from the subcontractors
  • Assist with the closeout process of the project: working with the Project Manager to prepare final records for the project such as Request for Information (RFI) logs, close out records, warranties, as-builts, Operations and Maintenance (O&Ms), and evaluating information to insure compliance with contract documents.
  • Assist with Department of Defense Base Access Requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering or

• An Associate’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering and a minimum of 3 -4 years of related experience; or

• A High School diploma and a minimum of 6 years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills Abilities:

• Familiarity with reference materials and where/how to find information needed in professional work

• Ability to professionally represent the company verbally, in writing, and in person to clients, team members and all others

• Ability to effectively work in a cohesive team working together to achieve project goals

• Strong organization skills to effectively manage time and resources in the most efficient manner

• Self-starter proficient in organizing and completing assigned tasks within a specified time frame

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Ability to work independently with limited oversight
