Software/Systems Analyst

Position Description

• Work independently with team members to document application concepts and system functionality under direction of product manager
• Plan, facilitate and documenting system re-design sessions
• Prepare system artifacts such as: Business Requirements Documents; wireframe/page mock-ups for GUI; Design Standards spreadsheet; Modifications/Changes spreadsheet for differences between current production system and new design
• Identify and communicate design issues/risks to the product manager and technical lead and assist with resolution
• Adept at learning current system functionality and determining new business requirements and translating them to specific software requirements.
• Assist with the creation or review of user documentation, training, and customer support
• Participate in testing (QA) during release preparation; Develop and maintain test scripts

Mandatory Skills

• Excellent technical writing and meeting facilitation skills.
• Experience with software application redesign. 
• Self-starter who works well on a small team. Strong attention to detail. Able to handle multiple, concurrent, responsibilities and tasks.
• Experience with NYS Civil Service SPMM or NYSTEP and/or OSC Payroll Processing/PayServ highly valued.
• Experience with testing software such as Telerik a plus.

Desired Skills

• Previous experience with HRISnet, NYSTEP or other HR systems
• Previous experience with a NYS agency HR or Payroll Office
