Who We're Looking For

We’re looking for a UX Designer to join our growing Design Team at Clutch. As a UX Designer, you’ll be a main contributor to elevating the UX Maturity of Clutch. You’ll be focused on having a positive and measurable impact on our key metrics of: Accessibility, Time on Task, Lostness and Task Completion. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute towards a platform that empowers better business decisions as the leading marketplace of B2B service providers on a global scale! 

Our ideal candidate has experience working on Agile teams with an established design process and collaborative design practices, is focused on outcomes, able to self-prioritize, and passionate about delivering measurable and accessible solutions.

The Clutch Design Team is a collaborative and focused team with over 40 years of combined design experience across a diverse range of markets and products. We are responsible for handling an aggressive cadence of delivery at the highest level of design and accessibility. As a team, we produce user-centered solutions that are validated and measured before and after a solution is delivered to our users. We hold each other accountable for delivering our best work and have numerous feedback loops that we leverage in an iterative manner throughout our Design Thinking process. 

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities

  • Complete understanding of the Design Thinking process with the ability to evangelize, promote and execute across an organization.
  • Manage and support a project pipeline of 5-10 concurrent projects per month with minimal supervision.
  • Leverage and evangelize the current Design System along with shared libraries and templates to ensure we continue to deliver consistent and impactful solutions.
  • Facilitate and conduct user research to identify and eliminate lostness, reduce time on task and improve task completion.
  • Create and advocate solutions that adhere to our accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1) to ensure the largest audiences can achieve success through our products and services.
  • Fully integrate with our Design Team, and contribute new insights on how we as a team can improve our processes and strengthen our impact on the organization and market.
  • Practice and promote user-centered design through empathy, best practices and modern design patterns.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative user research with internal and external customers to identify real problems, validate assumptions, iterate designs and improve usability.
  • Promote, maintain and evolve the current Design System and Digital Style Guide.
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment with Product Management, Development, Executives and QA to develop a comprehensive understanding of each project's needs and priorities.
  • Be an individual contributor and team member of a lean UX team with the ability to take ownership of projects with little to no supervision.
  • Proficient in the principles and best practices of information architecture, interaction design and usability.
  • Produce heuristic evaluations and competitive analysis.
  • Facilitate discussions, design reviews and collaboration workshops with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a UX Design capacity 
  • Online portfolio highlighting multiple projects that demonstrate your experience and skill in research, design, usability testing, documentation and collaboration with engineers and Product Team.
    • Past work must demonstrate the following:
      • Design Thinking process with measurable outcomes
      • User-centered design processes and techniques
      • Data driven designs
      • Responsive and Adaptive Web Design
      • Mobile-first design principles and best practice
  • In-house experience researching & designing new features for an organization with established design processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate cross-functionally with teams and leaders from various backgrounds.
  • A life-long student - taking every opportunity to learn and apply new knowledge.
  • Thrive in fast-paced iterative environment while simultaneously work on multiple customer-facing projects while on a tight deadline and while keeping research and deliverables organized. 
  • Proficient in UX/UI design tools like:
    • Figma (preferred)
    • Adobe XD
  • Experience working with Kanban in JIRA is a plus!
  • Authorized to work in the United States. 
  • Able to work Eastern Time Zone hours (8:30am ET/9:00am ET)
  • Position is based out of Washington, DC with remote opportunities.
