Club Monaco is Hiring a HR Business Partner Near Chicago, IL

Scope of Role:
Reporting to the Director of HR, the successful candidate will provide associate relations support to store associates across multiple states. They must be well versed in labor laws, practices and will provide general human resources support to the store organization. 

The objective of this role is to provide support to the store organization, Field Leadership and Store Operations teams on all aspects of Human Resources including talent retention and acquisition, associate relations, policy interpretation, and training and development. 

General Duties

  • Support the cascade and roll out of major HR programs within assigned region
  • Support store-focused HR as the HR Business Partner
  • Ensure alignment and consistent execution of HR initiatives
  • Work in partnership with Operational Leaders to ensure a strong HR partnership.
  • Provide consistent communication with HR Director and District Managers regarding talent and associate relations issues
  • Act as a regional HR contact for associate related questions regarding benefits, payroll, time off, and other policies

Talent Development

  • Proactively identify talent opportunities and partner with District Managers on talent strategy with clearly defined recommendations and action plans
  • Partner with Store Managers and District Managers on recruitment efforts-including conducting final interviews for all Store Manager positions, ensuring compliance to approved wage rates, confirming required paperwork completed, participate recruitment initiatives, and assist in posting positions
  • Conduct exit interviews with Store Managers to assist in identifying concerns/patterns to assist in reducing overall turnover

Associate Relations

  • Provide expertise and ensure legal compliance with applicable labor laws
  • Partner with Store Managers and District Managers regarding associate relations concerns (performance, attendance, disciplinary, AP, etc.)
  • Participates in workforce planning/succession planning sessions for area of support
  • Ensure consistent execution of HR programs, employment legislation and Company policies
  • Conducts workplace investigations for any alleged harassment, discrimination, associate complaints/concerns filed internally or with various federal, state and local government agencies
  • Conducts training of HR-related subject matters to field operations staff on an as needed basis. Follows up on individual training matters

Administrative Duties:

  • Manage store recruitment and onboarding process to ensure required paperwork is complete
  • Support annual compensation review and goal setting processes
  • Manage HRIS to ensure associate changes such as promotions, rate changes, etc. are processed in a timely manner

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education of a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business, or similar
  • Three or more years’ progressive experience in human resources
  • Experience in a multi-site, global environment
  • Knowledge of employee/labor relations, recruitment, selection and retention strategies, training and development, and performance management.
  • Experience in a retail setting is an asset
  • General knowledge of employment-related legislation with the ability to interpret and apply legislation as it relates to employment.
  • Excellent analytical skills; and ability to be hands-on as and when required
  • Excellence in achieving multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a timely fashion
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills, using a variety of software applications and online tools
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
