Job Title: CloudCheckr Specialist

Shift: First, Monday through Friday

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Job Summary:

We are seeking a CloudCheckr Specialist to join our Cloud Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing cloud costs, providing insights and reporting on cloud usage, and ensuring effective cloud management practices. This role involves close collaboration with internal finance, operations, and technology teams, and external cloud service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

•Develop and generate reports to track cloud usage, costs, and optimization efforts.

•Understand and apply chargeback models in the cloud environment to allocate costs accurately.

•Manage cloud cost views, user permissions, and account configurations based on specific requirements.

•Automate billing processes, including monthly invoice generation and custom charge configurations.

•Provide training and support to end-users on CloudCheckr functionalities and best practices.

•Collaborate with internal teams to drive cost optimization initiatives, including analyzing usage patterns, recommending cost-saving changes, and negotiating with cloud service providers.

•Develop financial models for cloud cost forecasting and tracking, and support the monthly cloud budgeting and forecasting process.

•Monitor and analyze cloud consumption to identify and address anomalies or spikes in usage.

•Contribute to business case development, cost modeling, and TCO analyses.

•Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models, ensuring compatibility with data warehouse standards.

•Integrate analytical tools into applications and develop custom visuals as required.

•Maintain up-to-date knowledge on data analytics trends and tools, including proficiency in scripting languages for automation purposes (e.g., PowerShell, bash).

•Work closely with the accounting and finance departments to align cloud costs with business objectives.

•Ensure CloudCheckr configurations comply with security policies and customer requirements, and regularly update documentation for internal processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

•Proven experience with AWS CloudCheckr or similar cloud cost management tools.

•Strong understanding of cloud computing principles, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and various cloud architectures.

•Experience in financial modeling, cost analysis, and budget management related to cloud services.

•Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, and Power BI, including experience with data source integration.

•Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments and with external partners.

•Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, bash) for automation purposes.

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills:

•Experience in negotiating cloud service contracts and pricing.

•Architectural experience in developing reporting solutions.

•Familiarity with database and data warehousing standards.
