What We’re Looking For:

Cloud9 is seeking an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to plan, organize and execute successful events that engage our fans and partners. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with excellent project management skills and a passion for delivering high-quality events that meet business objectives.

This role will report into our Senior Marketing Manager and sit on our Marketing team. The Marketing Department at Cloud9 consists of Marketing, Socials, Content, Merchandise, and Graphics. The Marketing team is responsible for all campaigns and activations, supporting Partnerships, fulfilling obligations, and working with Team Operations to amplify our competitive teams and content creators.

What You’ll Do:

  • Plan and execute a variety of events, including digital activations, tournaments, online and in-person watch parties, booths, and more
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify event objectives, audience, budget, and other requirements
  • Develop event plans, timelines, and budgets that ensure successful execution
  • Source and manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to budget and quality standards
  • Organize event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, transportation, and accommodations
  • Manage onsite event execution, including overseeing staff and volunteers, managing vendors, and troubleshooting any issues that arise
  • Participate in community management to better understand the interests of our fans and implement their feedback
  • Work with Partnerships, Team Operations, Merchandise, Socials, Content, and Graphics to source and fulfill all event needs
  • Ensure events are aligned with brand messaging and positioning
  • Develop post-event reports and analytics to measure event success and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as health and safety, data privacy, and accessibility requirements
  • Continuously research industry trends and best practices to improve event quality and effectiveness
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in event planning and management
  • Must be local to LA or willing to relocate
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of event management software and tools
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the year, domestically and internationally
  • Have a valid passport
  • Experience working in esports is a plus

  • The wage range for this role incorporates the multiple factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current salary is $65,000
  • You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance
  • Equity grant is currently planned for this position
