A 350-bed San Francisco Bay Area Medical Center is seeking an Infection Preventionist to join their world class healthcare organization.
Utilizing epidemiological methods, theInfection Preventionist will report directly to the Director of Epidemiology and Infection Control and will collaborate with 6 additional infection preventionists.
The Infection Control Practitioner will collaborate with a team of nursing directors, overseeing this Non-Profit Medical Center, which has been serving the community for over 75 years.
The Infection Preventionist will coordinate infection surveillance, education, administrative, and control measures to assure that the transmission risks and complications of infections and infectious diseases are minimized to medical center clients, personnel, and visitors.
In this role, the Infection Control Practitioner will be required to manage and maintain responsibilities including statistician, educator, consultant, improvement coordinator, and evaluator of practice. The Infection Prevention Practitioner will be conversant with the infection hazards of all patient care services in order to be able to recommend and evaluate the effect of prevention strategies.
With the emphasis on improvement and publicly reported data the Infection Control Practitioner will possess a heightened ability to provide statistical analysis of data, be knowledgeable regarding NHSN data management and evaluate and implement prevention strategies. The Infection Control Practitioner and Control must hold a Certification in Infection Control (CIC), and a degree in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology or public health.
