Clifton Steel Company is Hiring a CNC Operator - Second Shift (CSC-1040) Near Maple Heights, OH

Who We Are

Founded in 1971, Clifton Steel Company (the Company) is a nationally recognized leader in the manufacturing of military armor plate and commercial specialty steel products. Clifton has served the armor plate market for over thirty years and is the premier industry supplier of many of its commercial products. The Company is a specialist in abrasion and impact resistant steel fabrication, particularly for quenched and tempered alloy and manganese steel. As a result of investments in production capabilities, access to critical materials and strong customer relationships, Clifton has established a defensible and sustainable market position.

Requirements to Qualify:

  • Individual must work well with others, & interact with Engineering, Quality & Subcontractors
  • Working knowledge of a PC & Microsoft Windows is mandatory
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Hand Held Inspection tools required
  • Ability to read production prints

Job Duties Required to obtain Job Rate Listed above:

  • Ability to Operate multiple machines simultaneously of same class (Horizontal and/or Vertical)
  • The ability to modify & edit existing G-code & M-code programs
  • Set-up/work holding fixtures & tool offsetting
  • Individual must physically demonstrate a tool touchdown, offset, change & drill
  • Experience in CAD/CAM software is recommended but not required
  • Skills must be demonstrated & applied to both Horizontal or Vertical Machining Center
  • Experience with Fanuc Controller is strongly recommended but not required
  • Ability to layout parts & machine patterns onto steel as required
  • Once training has been provided, Employee must have ability & capacity to train additional personnel in duties learned above regardless of experience level
  • With minimal training, Employee must be able to produce finished parts on a daily basis for a min. of 2 weeks while meeting production standards provided by company without assistance from a Supervisor or Trainer 
  • Previous experience on Vertical & Horizontal CNC's required
  • Employee must participate and become actively engaged in the Company Traction & L10 Process
  • Must have past experience with CNC operations & Certificate of CNC course (schooling) completion
  • FANUK controller experience is preferred
