Description

Supervises inspection team and lends advanced knowledge and experience of Click Bond Inc. parts to develop protocols and standards for the Quality Assurance Inspection personnel. Plans, coordinates, and helps to execute the Quality Assurance program designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards such as AS9100 / ISO 9001/ ISO14001. Ensures that QA Inspectors inspect, and or measure internally manufactured materials or procured products, to verify compliance with Click Bond or customer furnished engineering drawings, requirements, and procedures. Verifies product to be shipped and assures the proper completion of documentation associated with shipments. Coordinates the training of new Inspectors and or Apprentices in the development, application, and maintenance of quality requirements/standards for inspection. Supervises the evaluation of manufacturing’s development of products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises Inspectors in the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, industry and customer standards using industry practices including geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD & T).
  • In conjunction with Quality Engineering, designs & implements methods for process control, process improvement, lean inspection, production testing and inspection in support of design requirements.
  • Promotes and executes quality standards, inspection processes, quality plans, test methodology and documentation.
  • Supports concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Click Bond Quality Assurance and our customers.
  • Supervises the execution of AS9102 First Article Inspection system.
  • Maintain working knowledge of AS9100, ISO9000 and ISO 14001 requirements, and participates in audits of these standards.
  • Reviews supplier purchase orders, contracts and change orders to establish an effective receiving inspection plan to ensure necessary Click Bond and customer quality requirements have been accomplished by the supplier.
  • Interfaces with suppliers, Click Bond Procurement Department or customer quality representatives concerning deviations from quality assurance and engineering requirements.
  • In conjunction with Quality Engineering, Develops, executes, and analyzes quality reporting measures using appropriate reporting tools.
  • Participates in Click Bond internal audits, supplier on-site audits and customer audits as required.
  • Develops, writes and delivers training on quality requirements, engineering materials including drawings, industry and customer standards as well as quality initiatives.
  • Develops, executes, analyzes appropriate quality measures then prepares information needed for management reports to support analysis.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB
  • policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following
competencies:

  • Diverse knowledge of inspection practices, methods, tools and control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers,
  • suppliers, and the general public.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
  • procedures, customer, industry and government standards, and then implement the associated requirements.
  • Ability to write effective reports, business correspondence and Quality procedures.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions then implement
  • an appropriate plan to react to conclusion.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only
  • limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or flow diagram form and deal
  • with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and practices is essential.
  • In depth knowledge of (SPC) Statistical Process Control is required.
  • Working knowledge of Minitab is desirable.
  • Ability to write and read English.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
  • Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent fields, plus a minimum of four years industrial Quality Assurance
  • experience.
  • Note: B.S, or Associates degree requirement may be waived if additional experience warrants such as judged by
  • the Department Manager.
  • Minimum three years supervisory experience in an industry working closely with Quality Assurance.
  • Strong computer skills including QA applications, a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,
  • and database applications.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises subordinate Inspection lead, and Inspectors in the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Click Bond established policies, procedures and
  • applicable laws.
  • Is responsible for the Supervision, direction, coordination and evaluation of all employees under his /
  • her direction.
