Emergence Health Holdings is seeking an experienced, dependable HR Generalist to join our Corporate Human Resources team, to support the CareWell Urgent Care Centers of MA & RI! Our ideal candidate has experience in Human Resource compliance, as well as recruiting, with excellent communication skills and has the skillset to thrive in our fast-paced recruiting team.

A typical work schedule is at minimum, (40) hours per week, 8:30AM to 5PM. 

Job Summary: The HR Generalist will provide core human resources functions, ensure compliancy, and provide consistent HR solutions to business partners. Under the direction of HR Lifecycle Manager, this position is responsible for managing day-to-day Human Resource functions including positive employee relations, HR compliance, on-boarding and orientation, digital record keeping, compensation, training, and performance management.

Duties and Responsibilities: HR Generalist tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct new employee orientation
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team for the onboarding of new hires
  • Collaborate with the training teams to ensure orientation and training rosters are distributed
  • Maintain employee files and documentation
  • Create employee engagement programs or strategies that impact the attraction, motivation, retention of the people resources of the business
  • Provide HR support and coaching to managers on HR policies and processes, people management, and career development
  • Counsel and/or coach employees and managers regarding employee relations issues including performance management, facilitation of formal/informal complaints to resolution, discipline and/or terminations in line with local culture and the business and legal environment
  • Responsible for remaining up to date on relevant US, and state employment laws and other human resources compliance issues. Update management on policies/processes as necessary.
  • Responsible for oversight and coordination of any regulatory requirements including medical credentialing compliance and Equal Employment Opportunity
  • Collaborate with other peers, subject matter experts and field HR reps to resolve employee issues in a thorough and timely manner.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies to include MA, RI, NH, VT, ME state and Federal labor laws.
  • Ability to conduct effective and objective employment investigations and rise to an appropriate resolution in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to interpret, write, and deploy employment policies, as well as partner with the training team to ensure appropriate training is released to the appropriate employee populations.
  • Superior follow up and self-discipline.
  • Strong analysis, problem solving, decision making, negotiating, and influencing skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Phone, skype, Zoom, and online meeting platform skills.

Key Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), along with demonstrated ability to build positive professional relationships, influence leaders and use negotiation skills with various levels in the organization is required.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work independently, multi-task, and follow up on projects and issues.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Human Resources or a business-related field preferred.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in various aspects of human resources (staffing, compensation, employee relations and organizational development).
  • Experience with Zenefits and/or similar people management software is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:This position does not supervise others.

Work Environment: This job operates in a clerical, office setting, as well as a remote setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands: This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool, as necessary. Position requires extensive use of computer systems.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time exempt position with an expected workweek of, at minimum, 40 hours per week. Typical work hours and days are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm. This position is a hybrid position with remote and in-office (2 days minimal) flex.

Travel:Travel to our centers is required from time to time, about 20%-30% for meetings, and in providing an HR presence to all employees and management.
