Job Title: Compliance Officer

Department: Management

Reports To: Director of Operations

Approved By: Executive Director

Job Summary:

Our agency is searching for a motivated and experienced compliance officer to guarantee that our business processes and transactions follow all relevant legal and internal guidelines. Your duties will include reviewing employee work, developing company policies, and responding to policy violations. The ideal candidate will be professional, highly analytical, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. To prosper in this role, you should be fluent in risk management and our industry’s principles.

General Responsibilities:

  • Mastermind compliance policies and protocols on behalf of the organization
  • Develop and implement a compliance program to ensure the organization operates in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Determine compliance metrics and establish a system for tracking them
  • Sign off on any marketing and advertising collateral to ensure it is in compliance
  • Remain up to date on federal and state laws related to the organization and update policies accordingly
  • Perform compliance audits to determine whether establish protocols are being followed and where they can be improved
  • Maintain up-to-date written documentation and policies related to the organization's business activities
  • Create a compliance resource library for staff members to reference when they have questions

·Monitors all operational processes and procedures using a compliance management system to ensure that the company complies with all legal regulations and ethical standards.

·Manages information flow by researching, recording, and analyzing data and information. With a regular flow of information and conducting compliance risk assessments, they ensure that the business runs smoothly.

·Trains and educates staff so that they are informed of any legal changes and updates to compliance guidelines.

·Acts as contact person and liaison between department heads and senior management.

·Conducts regular assessments to determine whether policies are compliant with the law.

·Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.

·Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.

·Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.

Qualifications

  • 5 years prior experience in risk management or compliance roles
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain a compliance certification
  • Superior attention to detail in order to identify and correct risky practices
  • Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both in speaking and in writing
  • Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions from team members
  • Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines
  • Should have a strong moral code and sense of ethics

  • Decision-Making: Case management must be able to make independent decisions daily, addressing the best way to handle specific tasks, before consulting with the Operations Manager.
  • Communications and Collaboration: Case management must collaborate with other administrators and support personnel, management and clients on a regular basis. Maintain proper and professional eidetic.
  • Organizational Skills: Organization and prioritization are the core elements of Case management responsibilities. You must know how to keep yourself and others organized and how to determine which tasks are the most important in a given list.
  • Writing: Spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and writing are essential to a Case Manager who must be proficient in a variety of styles, from professional to technical, educational and more. Must be able to effectively and professionally construct emails on the company’s behalf. Maintain proper and professional phone/grammar eidetic.
  • Multi-Tasking: In a high-volume office environment, multitasking is about carefully shifting your attention from one task to another; and not splitting your focus between many things at the same time.
  • Time Management: Time management effectiveness is having the ability to complete a task(s) within a specific period. This is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between specific work-related activities. Good time management enables you to work smarter – not harder – so that you get more done in less time, even when time is tight, and pressures are high.
  • Accounting:the measurement, processing, and communication of financial and non-financial information about economic entities such as businesses and corporations

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in legal studies, master’s degree in compliance or related fields
    • The Ethics and compliance officer Association certification preferred
