Manage carpentry shop and all personnel assigned. Directly responsible to the Building Maintenance Coordinator.
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Have extensive knowledge of carpentry and all tools/equipment related to the trade.
Thorough knowledge and comprehension of blueprints and specifications.
Experience in construction techniques, including but not limited to, rough framing, structural and non-structural, trusses, sheeting, paneling, trim, cabinet making, locks and door closures.
Ability to understand and apply safety rules relating to work.
Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Building Maintenance employees and with County employees in areas served.
Must be capable of performing manual labor.
Well versed in State and local building and safety codes.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
The person in this position needs to frequently move about within and outside of buildings to facilitate maintenance tasks.
Frequently ascends/descends ladders, ramps, and stairwells to service lights, ceilings, roofs, gutters, trim trees, paint, etc.
Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, including objects up to 100 pounds in weight. Constant movement and use of limbs; position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
Regularly works around moving mechanical parts, power equipment, and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and excessive humidity.
