Sky Communications Inc is Hiring a NOC Tier 2 Network - Tech Lead with Security Clearance Near Cary, NC
Responsibilities: Your primary responsibility is to provide Change Management and escalated Incident Management functions to GNOSC (Government Network Operations and Security Center) customers in a 24x7 environment. You will be part of a team that will support a Tier 1-2 organization through incident handling, training, creation of documentation and working technical project. This position is the most senior level of the Operations Support Staff. Qualifications: • Must have a current active Top Secret Security Clearance. • Must have a current Security Certification. • Must have an active CCNP certification. • Five plus year experience in a LAN / WAN NOC environment. • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS). • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model. • Direct experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools. • University degree in Computer Science or a related subject – Preferred. • Positive and professional demeanor. Responsibilities In depth network troubleshooting experience on a Layer 2-3 network. 5 years of Tier 3 experience in a Network Operations Center as network engineer. Extensive Experience with network management tools and solving complex networking problems. Must be flexible to work in a 7 X 24 environment including on-call. • Test and repair software/hardware/routing issues in the customer WAN/LAN environment. • Excellent working and troubleshooting knowledge of Routing Protocols and Multiple CPE vendors: Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, etc. • Monitor performance and ensure network and system availability and reliability. • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. • Mentor and support NOC Tier 1 teams with incident and problem related issues and escalations. • Provide Tier 2 Level support and troubleshooting to resolve issues, collaborating with technical teams, partners, and vendors. • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure. • Provide expert knowledge of network engineering and operations, enterprise network solutions and test and evaluation activities. • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution and coordinate dispatches and collaborating with field technicians with testing and fix actions. • Lead technical conference bridges during major outages working with technical teams, partners and vendors to ensure timely fault isolation and resolution. • Support network weekend maintenance activities. • Manage, oversee, and execute weekly testing of network environment.
