We are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to become a part of our dynamic, collaborative, and growing team. You will report directly to the Controller and work within our collaborative finance team.

Killingworth was started in 1993, and we grew to become the 36th largest pest control company in North America. In 2018 Anticimex purchased Killingworth and gave us the backing and experience of a host of sister companies in the US, Europe, and Asia. Now with an R&D division second to none, we are bringing cutting-edge pest control to the Carolinas while still focusing on our customers’ needs.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• One to two years of full-cycle accounting experience.
• Experience preparing and posting journal entries.
• Financial statement review.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proactive and effective communicator.
• Team player with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong work ethic.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Understand and respect needs for confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Flexible and adaptive to change.
• Advanced Excel skills to include pivot tables and v-lookups.
• Quick learner.

Desired Requirements:

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Work with finance team on timely completion of month end close.
• Prepare and post general ledger journals including revenue, bad debt reserve, intercompany expense, prepaid expense, accruals, and other ledger activity as needed.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the financial statements and other information reported to internal and external users.
• Maintaining fixed assets; includes asset additions, disposals, sales, and monthly depreciation.
• Reconcile and record daily cash.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Finance ad hoc reporting and projects.
• Back up various accounting functions as needed.
• Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures.
• Work closely with Accounts Payable to ensure proper coding of expenses.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while achieving department goals and objectives.

Additional information:

• Schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8a-5p.
• This position will work out of our Matthews location.
